Inner-City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM)

For over fifteen years, the members of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church have partnered with the Inner City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM) to provide a Sunday lunch twice a year at the Bissell Centre in Edmonton.  Volunteers from Mount Olivet purchase and prepare the food, and help serve it to the homeless, and/or lower income families of the Inner City.  For more about the work of ICPM, visit their website by clicking their logo.

The NEXT Mount Olivet sponsored Sunday Lunch at ICPM will take place on:

13 June 2021

Toiletries for the Homeless!

We are collecting the items pictured above for the staff at ICPM
to hand out to homeless people in and around the downtown core.
If you can help out, please drop off your donations
to the Church Office to be brought downtown by
our ICPM liaison at Mount Olivet.

Do you like to sew?
Have we got an opportunity for you!

In Christmas 2020, our Mount Olivet liaison to ICPM
organised people to make handmade drawstring bags to give
to the people who attend the yearly ICPM Christmas Banquet,
and they were a big hit! So, this year we’re planning ahead!

We’re looking for volunteers to make bags to be used throughout the year, like when we help with the Sunday lunches (on Jun. 13 & Oct. 31, 2021) and for the the yearly ICPM Christmas banquet.

The MOLC Christmas Gift Bag Campaign, which many of you generously support every year, is also coordinated by Sue. She needs volunteers to make some bags, which are 13″ by 11″ rectangles, with a drawstring at the top (as shown)

If you have the time and talent to help out,
Sue has some purple and green cotton-blend fabrics,
and a lightweight & waterproof red material you can use.
Or, if you have fabrics at home that you would like to use up,
that would also be gratefully received; all offers are welcome.

To volunteer, send an email to the church office
and we will gladly forward it to Mount Olivet’s ICPM Liaison.
