Below you will read a description of what Mount Olivet’s SPLASH Sunday School program normally looks like. For now, during this time of COVID-19, we offer some fun and creative activities for children to do at home with their families:
When we think of SPLASH we think of water. The most common use for water in the church is washing and regeneration through Baptism. Our Sunday school program has taken on this new look using the comparison of Baptism to learning more about how God connects to us in our daily life. Kids who are age 3 all the way to age 12 are welcome.
SPLASH! takes place during worship starting 15 minutes into the 10:00am worship service, just after the “Kid’s Connection” time. It runs on a three to one schedule, being first two weeks in the month is ‘Small Group Time’ where the kids are split into similar age groups, the third week is for ‘SPLASH! into Music’ which is aimed at encouraging the kids to learn to worship the Lord with music, and the last Sunday in each month is ‘Large Group Time’ when we meet all together.
SPLASH! follows the Narrative Lectionary with hopes that what the children learn is the same or similar to what the adults are learning in worship!
Large children’s bulletins (and crayons!) are now available for those youngsters staying in the service with mom & dad.
